Just a reminder for Year 6 parents:
SAT’s are next week – week commencing 9th May.

Carlton

Well done to all of the Year 6s who attended Carlton Outdoor Centre at the weekend. They thoroughly enjoyed it and they represented the school very well indeed. Well Done!

Sum Dog – superb new maths games site

What is Sum Dog?

Like Tutpup, SumDog allows you to play maths games against people all over the world.  Unlike Tutupup, Sum Dog offers you the option of playing against the computer if there are no human players available.  There is also a range of games, including: Athletics, Talent Show, Penalty Shoot-out and Collecting Cans.

Other reasons to try Sum Dog

Sum Dog is free, lets you play as a guest without creating an account and adapts to your skill level.  If you find maths hard, the website will give you easier questions and if you find maths easy the questions will become harder fairly quickly. It should provide just the right level of challenge for everyone.  Finally, you can choose your level and, if you do create an account, your progress can be saved.

Flora Cooking With Schools 2010

Flora cooking with schoolsA big thank you to everybody who collected tokens last year. Reid Street children and their families helped to raise £146.40 by donating 732 tokens.

We are once again taking part in the Flora Cooking With Schools and are collecting tokens,  so that we can benefit from more free cooking equipment to use in lessons.

This is the last year that Flora will run the scheme, so please collect as many as you can.  Tokens can be registered on the Flora site from now until the end of July.  If you are unable to register your tokens on the internet, please send them in to school.

Please click here to visit our school’s progress page.

School Fair

Last Friday we had a very successful Christmas Fair.  Reid Street children and their families enjoyed the chocolate fountain, toy stall, goodie jars and scrumptious cakes!

Thank you to all of our visitors, who helped to raise £3,300 for school funds. This will be spent on Christmas parties, treats such as plays and shows and visits for Reid Street school pupils.

Below are some photographs of the stalls at the christmas fair (click on the image to enlarge):
